Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Erin! Thank you for bringing us your question!
How amazing that your little one will be celebrating his birthday at the
Most Magical Place on Earth! There is simply no better place, especially for a child, to celebrate his birthday; you have chosen well.
The first thing you need to do is get him a celebratory button at your resort lobby or at Guest Relations near park entrance. Not only will half the people at the park wish him a "Happy Birthday" but Cast Members will certainly want to know your little guy is celebrating his day and will most likely "work a little extra magic" for him. Let me tell you, the Birthday Celebration button gives you a great chance to receive some extra birthday love.
If you have a reservation at a
sit-down restaurant (a
character meal with your child's favorite character is strongly advisable), chances are your son will receive a free celebratory cupcake or other desserts. Your server will usually bring a birthday card signed by the characters and will light up a candle and begin to sing the traditional Happy Birthday song for other guests to join in!
My best piece of advice is to wear the birthday button at all times. From extra smiles and free cupcakes to upgrades, I have heard of many birthday stories and extra magic. While there are no official perks for guests celebrating their birthdays, you never know if Tinker Bell will be sprinkling her pixie dust near you and your son on a given day!
As far as other birthday ideas, Erin, I recommend you visit
Disney Floral & Gifts website for in-room celebration ideas or browse through the
Enchanted Extras Collection to make his day even more magical. However, even if you decided not to add any "extras", your little one will have the most pixie-dusted birthday of all!
I hope these ideas are helpful and please come back with more questions.
See ya real soon!
