My son just turned 2 - he uses ripple kids milk : it’s a special brand of milk, can we bring this onto the ship with us if we buy it straight from the store before getting on the boat or do we need to get it into smaller storage bottles & cooler

Hi there, Laura! Welcome to planDisney!

Your Disney cruise is almost here, and I’m so excited for you! I know all about wanting to prep those last-minute items and get that magical cruise packing list in order. I know your son’s milk is part of that list, so I’d be happy to help guide you on the best way to bring it on board!

Disney Cruise Line would like their guests to be as comfortable as possible on their magical vacation. Guests may bring their own food and beverage items on board, as long as they are unopened and factory-sealed in their original packaging. Milk and other beverage items should be carried on and not placed in checked luggage. If any item needs to be refrigerated, guests may carry it on in a cooler no larger than 12″ x 12″ x 12″. This is in accordance with Disney Cruise Line’s List of Prohibited and Restricted Items guidelines. Please remember that guidelines are always subject to change without notice.

Therefore, yes, you can bring your son’s milk on board your cruise, as long as you follow the previous guidelines. You may purchase the milk from the store on the way to the cruise port if you would like, and carry it on board, whether it's shelf-stable or refrigerated. If you have an earlier Port Arrival Time and are bringing refrigerated milk, I suggest storing it in a cooler no larger than 12″ x 12″ x 12″ to keep it cold, because you won't be able to go to your stateroom before 1:30 PM. Should you need to refrigerate the milk on board, there is a beverage cooler refrigerator in your stateroom. Most importantly, please remember that the milk cannot be placed in your checked luggage, must be carried on, and must remain factory sealed. This means that you should not open the milk to place it in smaller storage bottles, as it will be taken from you before you embark on your cruise.

Since we’re talking about last-minute packing items, I’ll also share with you this handy dandy Disney Cruise packing list, just in case there are items you might have forgotten to pack. I know I always find some forgotten items on this list, which I'm grateful for later!

Laura, I hope this helped offer clarification. I wish you absolutely splendid memories on board your cruise! Please sail back to planDisney if you have any other questions.

    Bon Voyage,
