My son will have just turned five when we go to Disney World in May. He likes Star Wars but is not as huge a fan as many kids. Is the Power of the Park at HS tour worth the time and money? Is the stars wars themed dinner anything very special?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Angela!

The Power of the Park Side is filled with so much Star Wars action that you may not be able to choose between the Dark and the Light side! I am going to be completely honest here, if your son is not a HUGE Star Wars fan, I might skip this tour. However, if you plan on enjoying most of the Star Wars activities at Disney’s Hollywood Studios anyway- then this tour can be a real “time-saber”! Here is what is included:

-A viewing of Star Wars: Path of the Jedi
-Reserved seating for Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away and March of the First Order
-Enrollment for Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple (ages 4-12). This is important because it is VERY popular and fills up quickly!
-A ride with little to no wait on Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
-A meal at Backlot Express (to answer your food question, you could get this meal without purchasing the tour)
    -Star Wars Characters
-VIP viewing of Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular fireworks show
    -A special souvenir

To me, the VIP viewing (which you could also get with a Dessert Party package), and the Jedi Training enrollment almost make this package worth the money. Everything else can be done at your leisure if you choose to do so. If you decide to experience the tour, you will have an "out of this world" time! My main concern is that if your son isn’t a huge fan, and is 5 years old, he may get tired.

I hope my honest answer helps you with your decision and please come back soon!
