My son is going to turn 1 on September 1, 2015 and we were thinking of taking a trip to Disney World that week but we are not sure if he is too young for this. Do you have any suggestion for 1 yr old activities, etc.?

Hi Selam! I may be a bit biased; but I loved taking my kids to the Walt Disney World Resort when they were just around one year old! Some of our favorite memories were from these early trips with our children!

One of my favorite things to recommend is the Harmony Barber Shop in Magic Kingdom Park. If your son hasn’t had his first haircut yet, this is the perfect and most magical place to have a first haircut! They actually have a “First Haircut Package” and it is precious! Currently the package includes a haircut, embroidered Mickey Ears, and a beautiful certificate with your child’s name, date, and the location. You also will get a lock of hair for your baby book and they may even throw in some confetti! The Disney Cast Members who have cut my children’s hair have been so patient and kind, and they really made this experience so special.

There are plenty of attractions that you can experience as a whole family! Some of our favorites are Dumbo the Flying Elephant, “it’s a small world”, and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh just to name a few. We love a lot of the entertainment and it is kid friendly. One of our favorites is Disney Junior – Live on Stage in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It is so fun to see your little one clapping along to some of their favorite characters.

We also enjoy character dining! Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and The Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom Park were two of our favorite character dining locations when our children were around this age! There is plenty of space for your son to get some energy out and we enjoyed experiencing our resort hotels pool with our children!
