My son will turn 8 while we are there what is the best place to celebrate and can we order him a cake?

Hello Nicole and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
I'm so thrilled to know you will be celebrating your dear son's 8th birthday at Walt Disney World Resort, I can't think of a more magical spot to enjoy such a special day!
When my own Mouseketeers were younger they always asked to dine with the Big Cheese himself at Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort where the buffet menu is great and the atmosphere is both happy and lively!
Another super nice option may be the Hollywood & Vine at Disney's Hollywood Studios where Guests can enjoy Minnie's Seasonal Dine which could even be combined with a Fantasmic! Dining Package for some added birthday sparkle.
Speciality and personalised cakes can be ordered and delivered to most Table Service restaurants on Disney property.  It's easy to Customise Your Celebration by ordering a Speciality Cake at least 72 business hours in advance by speaking to Cast Member via the telephone number contained within my previous link.
Plus be sure to collect from most Guest Relations a complimentary "I'm celebrating" button for your birthday boy to wear. Wearers of these cute buttons are often wished a happy birthday from Cast Members and other Guests alike.
Wishing you and your dear son an extra magical 8th birthday visit to Walt Disney World Resort.
