My son is traveling with his HS band. How certain are the performance times typically for MK. The director said they play at 630pm at MK. I hate to plan a day in the park if their performance time is likely to change to another day. Thank you.

Hello, Debra! I'm so glad your son and his band are planning a trip to see M-I-C-K-E-Y-M-O-U-S-E! The thrill of marching down Main Street, U.S.A. is like none other, and he'll cherish these memories for a lifetime!

I spoke with a Cast Member at Disney Performing Arts, and he gave me a wealth of information to share with you. He said that during busier times of the year, there can be several High School Marching Band performances a day. 6:30 PM is the standard time for the evening performance, and although it is subject to change due to weather, it will more than likely stay the same. They will email additional information to your director in the coming weeks, so if there is a change in the schedule, you'll be notified before your trip.

The evening parade route typically starts by Splash Mountain, and the band will make their way through Liberty Square, then around the hub by Cinderella Castle, before marching down Main Street, U.S.A. After circling the flagpole, they will end right by the Firehouse. The route is marked with a blue line on the Magic Kingdom Park map on the Walt Disney World website.

Bands are usually asked to report about 90 minutes prior to show time, so he suggested that if you are thinking about dining reservations or FastPass+ selections, not to plan any between 4:30 PM-8:00 PM, just to be safe. If you have any further questions, feel free to give them a call at (800) 359-0509, and choose option #4.

Keep Calm and March On, Debra! I hope you have a magical time!

Meet the Panelist: Eean, Pennsylvania

Hi, I'm Eean from Pennsylvania!  I may have an unusual name, but my passion for Disney is not unique.  It’s amazing how many people you can find who love talking about, "The Most Magical Place On Earth!"  I'm that mom who always has her ears perked at PTO meetings, in the grocery store aisle, or at middle school basketball games waiting for an opportunity to give someone a planning tip to help make their vacation even more magical.
