Hello Christina, and welcome to planDisney!
How exciting for your son to visit the Walt Disney World Resort with friends. He is going to have an amazing time, especially since he will be able to enjoy the
50th Anniversary Celebration!
The easiest way for your son to be included on another family’s trip is by linking his My Disney Experience account to their “
My Family and Friends” list. Once a MagicBand is linked to an account, it cannot be transferred or linked to another account.
Your son’s information is connected to his
My Disney Experience account and accessed by his MagicBand. If your son is over 13 and manages his own My Disney Experience account online or in the mobile app, he can connect his friends to his account by allowing them to scan his QR code to link to his friends and family. To generate a code, open the app and tap the more icon in the lower right corner. Scroll down to
My Profile and select
Show My Linking Code. When someone scans his code, he will be added to their Family and Friends list. They will be able to share and include him in their plans. Including
Disney Park Pass reservations and
Genie+ selections.
If your son is under 13 a parent or guardian must manage his account. You will need to send a request to join your “My Family & Friends” list with the person who is making plans for your friend’s family. Once they accept, share your plans with them and they should be able to see your son on your list. If they cannot see him on your list, you may need the help of a Cast Member on the
My Disney Experience and MagicBands team by calling (407) 939-4357. Be sure to share your son’s PhotoPass Photos too, if your friend purchases the Memory Maker option, they will be able to download and share with you any photos your son captures with his MagicBand during on-ride photos and with PhotoPass photographers.
I hope your son has an amazing time. If you or his friends have any more questions please come back and visit us here at planDisney.
See ya real soon,
Andrea
