Hi! Me and my son are traveling to Disneyland. I have celiac Disney so can’t have any gluten or cross contamination. My son is also allergic to all artificial dyes. Do you know what places we could go to eat in Disney or treats that’s dye free/gluten free?

    Welcome to planDisney, Melissa!

A family in my neighborhood has several members with celiac disease. They went to the Disneyland Resort and came back home singing praises for how well the Cast Members were able to accommodate their needs. I love how their experience was as magical as possible.

The Disneyland Resort is incredibly conscientious of special dietary needs. Whenever possible, allergy-friendly requests will be accommodated. It is important to note that the Disneyland Resort does not have separate allergen-friendly kitchen facilities. They strive to diligently prevent cross-contact, but cannot fully guarantee a given menu item will be free of any particular allergen.

To accommodate more severe dietary restrictions, all Guests are welcome to carry outside food into the Disneyland Resort with them. All dining locations, including quick service restaurants, will provide updated ingredient lists for their menu items. Because ingredients and preparation methods may change, it's always important to ask for the latest information when visiting a location. For more particular requests, especially when dealing with multiple unique allergen concerns or food sensitivities, you may email the Special Diets team after you are within 14 days of your visit to the Disneyland Resort.

There are some delicious options that I think may be worth investigating. For a hearty meal, you may ask about allergen-friendly options at the various Turkey Leg Carts. I'm a big fan of the many Fruit Carts. Some of my favorite treats include pickles (especially the hot and spicy pickles) and mango slices with Tajin.

I hope you have a magical time with your son at the Disneyland Resort, Melissa. Please let us know if there are any other questions you have as you get ready to travel to The Happiest Place on Earth!

    See ya real soon, Melissa!
