Hi Bob! Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Some of my fellow panelists recently experienced similar situations when their own children were headed to Walt Disney World Resort on high school band trips. Believe me, it is hard for us Disney planners to have someone else managing all the plans!
Without knowing the specifics of how the organizers of your son's trip have set things up, it is going to be a bit tricky for me to give you the best advice on how to have access to your son's
Disney PhotoPass photos so you can download them with your
Memory Maker purchase. I have a couple of ideas for you.
Since it sounds like your wife will be at Walt Disney World at the same time as the high school band, she and your son can visit the front desk at the Resort Hotel to have a Cast Member link the admission card or
MagicBand your son was provided with his trip to her
My Disney Experience account. You might also try
calling Disney PhotoPass at (407) 560-4300. My sister was able to do this on a recent visit with her daughter's dance team. She ended up with photos of all the students staying in her daughter's room.
Another idea would be for your son to use an active
MagicBand he may have from a previous trip just for Disney PhotoPass photos. If he does not already have a MagicBand linked to a profile in your wife's account, you could
purchase a MagicBand, and link it to a profile you have created for him in your wife's account. He could then use that MagicBand just for the purpose of
linking Disney PhotoPass photos, and use the admission card or MagicBand provided with his group trip for Theme Park admission and FastPass+. Personally, I would not attempt to link a profile that you have created for him with whatever the trip organizers have set up.
Bob, I hope you'll be able to make my suggestions work for you. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to visit the Moms Panel again. We are always happy to help.
