My son is 37in tall (no shoes) how strictly are the height requirements enforced & at what point will he be measured? I would hate to stand in line for an hour only to not be able to get on the ride. What can't he ride?

The height restrictions are very well enforced. This is because the design of the ride vehicles necessitates that someone be whatever height is indicated to keep them safe during the attraction.

The upside is that you don't have to wait until you are about to board the ride to see if you are tall enough. They measure you out where you would get INTO the line, like where admit people to the FASTPASS queue. So you will know right away if you can, or cannot, ride.

I will tell you that a few years ago they did not let my youngest go on Star Tours, due to height. They gave her a card saying she would be the ship's captain when she returned (and if she was tall enough). She held onto that card for a year with an iron grip! Not all rides do this, but it shows that they try to soften the blow.

    Rides that have height restrictions;

    Magic Kingdom
    Big Thunder Mountain - 40"
    Space Mountain - 44"
    Splash Mountain - 40"
    Stitch's Great Escape - 40"
Tomorrowland Speedway - 32" to ride with someone, 54" to ride alone

    Mission: SPACE - 44"
    Soarin' - 40"
Sum of All Thrills - 48"
    Test Track - 40"

    Hollywood Studios

    Rock 'n' Roller Coaster - 48"
    Star Tours - 40"
Twilight Zone Tower of Terror - 40"

    Animal Kingdom
    DINOSAUR - 40"
    Expedition Everest - 44"
    Kali River Rapids - 38"
    Primeval Whirl - 48"

Also a number of the slides in the water parks have height restrictions as well.

    Have a magical vacation!
