My son might just be tall enough when we go, to ride Flight of Passage but I'm worried about him falling off or trying to get off. If he is just tall enough to ride can we still do a child ride swap if we don't think he should ride? Thanks

    Hi Clare!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I will begin by saying that Avatar Flight of Passage at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is one of the most amazing attractions I have ever experienced at Walt Disney World!  If you love Soarin' Around The World at Epcot, it is likely you will enjoy this one too.  The height requirement for this attraction is 44".  When you board the ride vehicle, the Cast Member will ensure you are sitting in the correct position and will then gently move restraints into place - on the back of your lower legs and your lower back.  In my experience, these are not uncomfortable in any way, but give you a nice feeling of security. However, this may be something you might like to consider for your son, especially if you think he might be bothered by these restraints.  Also, only one Guest can be seated in each ride vehicle, and although you would be quite close to your son, you cannot sit with him.  I am not trying to deter you from this experience! It is wonderful, and only you know how your son might cope with it.  I would encourage you to go online to read some reviews, to help you make your decision.  There is a test vehicle outside of the attraction for you to try out, and this might also help you decide if it is something your son would enjoy.  I also recommend that you speak with a Cast Member at the entrance to the queue to discuss the opportunity for Rider Switch if you exit the attraction after you have been seated.  Hopefully this would be offered to you, as the regular Rider Switch option is in place for this attraction.

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions. We will be happy to help you plan your magical holiday to Walt Disney World, and keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for all the latest official news and updates on events happening during your stay.
