My son will be staying at Bay lake towers the last week in March 2022. Can I join him at the pool one day. I will be visiting my sister in area and have tickets to Magic Kingdom one day but want one day to relax by pool and visit.

Hey there, Jo Ann! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so happy that you've stopped by with such a great question!

In just days, you will be arriving at The Most Magical Place on Earth, ready for some magic, fun and family time! How exciting! The only thing more wonderful than spending a day at Magic Kingdom Park is spending time with family, so, I am so happy to hear that you are in for a pixie-dusted visit soon. Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort is my FAVORITE Disney Vacation Club Resort and one of my Home Resorts. There just seems to be an extra buzz of magic in the air there, as you watch the monorail soar overhead and are within short walking distance to Magic Kingdom Park. Let's chat about your options for your magical visit with your son at this magical Resort.

While pool access at Bay Lake Tower is for Resort Guests only, your son can absolutely have you as a Day Guest in his room and around the Resort. Just be aware that Day Guests must have a dining reservation at Disney's Contemporary Resort to park a vehicle in the Bay Lake Tower or Contemporary parking lot, so, if you don't have a dining reservation there, I'd suggest walking or taking the monorail over from Magic Kingdom Park for your visit with your son.

Another option for your relaxing visit is for your son to add you to his Resort reservation. If your son's room is not at max occupancy and he is a DVC Member, he can easily add another Guest to his Resort reservation by logging in to his DVC account online, going to the Bay Lake Tower reservation on his Dashboard, clicking the little blue arrow next to his reservation, clicking the "View or Modify Details" button and then modifying the Guest Information to add your name. If he has not reserved this reservation using DVC Vacation Points, he can call Disney Resort Hotel Reservations at (407) 939-1936 to add you as a Guest. If you are a Resort Guest, you will be able to park at the Resort (If your son is not a DVC Member or staying on DVC Points, an overnight parking fee will be added) and have access to all of the amenities of the Resort, including the amazing pool.

Speaking of amazing pool days, did you know that you can rent a poolside cabana at one of the Contemporary Resort's pools?! My family and I LOVE cabana days! You get to relax with privacy, shade, comfy seating, towels, a fridge stocked with complimentary ice-cold drinks and a fruit tray, an attendant to assist with your needs, and more! To reserve a cabana, just call (407) WDW-PLAY or (407) 939-7529. While DVC discounts are always subject to change, if your son is a DVC Member, right now, he can get a 15% discount on cabana rentals! He can call DVC Member Services to reserve one today. A cabana day is seriously THE most relaxing Disney day!

Jo Ann, I hope this was helpful, and I hope you have the most magical time and the best visit with your family. Please stop by any time with any vacation planning questions!

I hope to see ya real soon,

    Mandy
