Hello Stephanie!
Welcome to planDisney! I'm so excited to help you today as I love sharing that Walt Disney World does go above and beyond to be accessible to all people.
I'm so excited for your son to experience all the magic in safety and comfort. Now, there is something I have to note. Right now,
stroller wagons are not permitted in the Parks. However, wagons/strollers serving as a wheelchair is a whole different situation and
could be allowed.
Guest Relations staff can assist in the Parks and provide a tag for the wheelchair stroller that can allow it to be used in the Parks. I cannot give you a promise that it will be permitted as it is determined on a case-by-case basis. I would not want you to be surprised when you arrive so I strongly suggest you email or call
Disability Services and inquire how best to proceed.
I would also suggest that you should look into a
Disability Access Service (DAS). This is a solution for guests who have difficulty waiting in an extended line due to a disability. You can now
register for this service between 2-30 days before your trip. It is all done via video chat and your son should be present. A friendly Cast Member will ask a few questions and connect your account to the DAS program. You can begin selecting up to two attractions per day of your trip before you even arrive at the Parks via the My Disney Experience Mobile App for free. This way you can prepare your son for what he will be experiencing well before you arrive. Walt Disney World also provides various helpful tips and resources for
guests with cognitive disabilities.
I hope you have a wonderful time. Remember to take breaks and enjoy every moment with your little Mouseketeer!
