My son has severs disease which limits his walking and standing times he has to wear a boot to limit the amount of pressure on his foot. His doctor said would b best to hire a wheelchair because of this. I was told about a das card is this a possibility ?

Hi there, Vicki! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We appreciate you taking the time to stop by and allowing us to help you plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

Walt Disney World Resort does an amazing job providing services and accommodations for their Guests with disabilities. The Disability Access Service is one of the options available to Guests with disabilities. This service is offered to Guests that cannot wait in a conventional queue environment due to disability. Guests that receive the Disability Access Service will receive a return time for select attractions that is comparable to the current wait time. This allows Guests to wait for the attraction outside of the conventional queue line to prevent discomfort or exacerbation of symptoms. Guests interested in receiving the Disability Access Service may speak with a Cast Member at any Guest Relations location at the front of each theme park. Cast Members will work with Guests to identify which services and accommodations fit their situation the best and provide them with the most magical experience possible!

If you do end up needing to rent a wheelchair for your son, this may be done at any Walt Disney World Resort theme park, water park, or Disney Springs. Guests may rent wheelchairs either daily or for the length of their stay. However, wheelchairs may not be removed from the location in which they were rented. If your son would benefit from using a wheelchair outside of the parks, I would recommend looking into the Disney Featured Providers. These local companies offer wheelchair rentals and can deliver wheelchairs directly to your Disney Resort hotel!

Hopefully, this information will assist you in making your family vacation to Walt Disney World Resort practically perfect in every way!
