My son is severely allergic to nut products. I was wondering if there are any "sweet/snack" places that are nut-free? He can't eat anything that was processed in the same facility as nuts either, and I'm wondering if we'll have to avoid all desse

    Hi Vanessa,

In my experience Walt Disney World is one of the easiest places to travel if you have a food allergy or specific dietary need.  Many of the quick service locations sell pre-packaged dessert items that are from nut-free facilities.  When you go to a quick service restaurant, be sure to explain that your child has an allergy and ask to speak with the manager about food options at that location. Cast members are extremely helpful.  I don't think you'll have to avoid dessert items entirely.

If you are making reservations for table service restaurants, be sure to indicate your food intolerance when you make the reservation.  If you're making reservations online, there is a screen that asks if you have any dietary needs.  If you are calling in, just let the cast member know.

Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
