Welcome to planDisney, Dana!
We’re so happy to hear from you, and hope that you’re getting excited for your trip into the magic! You’ll be waving to Mickey and enjoying lots of delicious treats in just a few short weeks! Be sure to plan for rain showers, Dana — you’ll want to make sure to have some reusable rain ponchos or small umbrellas with you. A good pair of all-rubber shoes is a great idea too!
I have traveled to Walt Disney World with one of my nieces who has a severe allergy to some food dyes. I’m happy to let you know that there are plenty of snacks to enjoy that are dye-free at the parks. Some of the basic freshly-made chocolate treats (especially the ones from
Main Street Confectionery) are some of my family’s favorites!
As there is not a complete list compiled of all of the foods that are dye-free, and because Disney changes recipes of foods often, I am going to point you in the direction of the
Special Dietary Requests team, Dana. It’s going to be important for you to contact them before your trip — however, please note that you will need to wait until at least 14 days before your trip to contact them. Email Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com with your son’s specific allergies and exactly what you’re needing assistance-wise.
Please also note that you are welcome to bring food into the Disney World theme parks! If there are snacks that your son is familiar with, this can be a great way to save a little bit of money and have peace of mind that he’s eating things that are safe for his sensitivities.
I hope you have a marvelous trip with your family, Dana! If you have any additional questions, we would love to hear from you again at planDisney. We’re just a dream away!
See ya real soon,
Allyn
