Hello, Eileen!
You’ll be glad to know that the Disneyland Resort is extremely accommodating when it comes to
dietary restrictions due to common food allergies. Many restaurants, including sit-down and quick-service locations, offer allergy-friendly menus and alternate meal options. Since your son has severe a peanut allergy, you should plan to discuss his dietary needs with your restaurant server upon arrival, and you are also welcome to speak with the chef or a Cast Member trained in special diets to ensure his needs are met.
Peanut-free snacks, such as fruits, veggies and frozen dessert bars, can be found throughout both theme parks at mobile carts. The Disneyland Resort’s individually-wrapped pickles and pineapple spears are well-known and crave-worthy treats, even for those not avoiding nuts! I’ve also spotted pre-packaged snacks that are free of the eight most common allergens, including peanuts. There are multiple restaurants that (as of the last time I checked) do not have any peanut or tree nut items on their menus at all, such as Lucky Fortune Cookery and
Flo’s V8 Café in Disney California Adventure Park and
Galactic Grill in Disneyland Park. However, keep in mind that you should always double check in person with regard to allergies before enjoying any food item, as ingredients and menus are subject to change.
If you have specific questions to be addressed in advance, please send an email to Special.Diets@Disneyland.com. I hope this is helpful, Eileen. Visit us again with more questions as you continue to plan your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
