My son has a severe egg allergy. Can the chefs at the resorts accommodate that? I was wondering if the Mickey waffles served at breakfast are eggless or if they can be made eggless?

    Hi Heather!

My oldest son has multiple severe food allergies, including to egg, so I understand how difficult it can be to accommodate your little Mouseketeer's food allergies during your vacation! The Chefs and Cast Members have always done an amazing job at accommodating my son's Special Diet during our trip. While menus and ingredients are always subject to change, I have found that egg-free Mickey waffles are sometimes available at for breakfast. I have been able to get them for my son from both  Capt. Cook's and 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. I recommend that when you are ordering for your son, you ask to speak with a Chef or Manager to help you accommodate your son's allergy and pick a safe meal that he will enjoy.

My son doesn't care much for waffles, so we often order him other safe foods such as potatoes, bacon, fruit and yogurt for his breakfast. However, he loves the allergy-friendly waffles at Be Our Guest Restaurant, even though they aren't Mickey waffles. Plus, at this breakfast he gets his own plate of allergy-safe pastries with breakfast that is a wonderful treat, since pastries can be tough when accommodating an egg allergy.

Be sure to check out the Snacks With Character located around Walt Disney World Resort for some awesome allergy-friendly snacks. My son loves the sugar cookies and the chocolate chip cookies. T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
