How ya doin' Elisabeth and welcome to planDisney!
In my personal experience, being hungry can definitely make the difference between a jolly holiday and a thundershower all over my chalk drawing during a day in the Disney Parks. And with a child with food allergies, you have to be even more vigilant to keep him both safe and meltdown free. Luckily the Walt Disney World Resort has made it super easy for people with all sorts of dietary needs to have a fabulous time and a full belly.
First things first, you can absolutely bring your own food and beverages to the Disney Parks. An insulated backpack is a brilliant idea. You can even bring a cooler as long as whatever you decide to carry fits within the 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high (61 cm x 38 cm x 46 cm) guidelines laid out in the
Walt Disney World Property Rules. Just note that glass containers aren't allowed for safety reasons. Your bag or cooler will be checked by security prior to entry and then it's on to a magical day.
Pro tip: The Walt Disney World Resort is a complete rockstar when it comes to
Special Dietary Requests. You can reach the Special Diets team by sending them an email at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com to see what you'll need to help your son have an awesome time.
Elisabeth, I hope I've been able to help you today. If you are attending
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, people with allergies can get a teal bag and a matching token to get allergy-friendly goodies. If you have any other questions,
come back to see me for another chat!
Happy planning!
