As a frequent chaperone on high school trips to Walt Disney World Resort, I'm so excited to hear that your son will have the chance to travel with his school choir next month. The
Disney Youth Programs office provides such amazing opportunities for young musicians to showcase their talents. He'll carry memories of this trip with him for a lifetime.
While this was not always the case, I'm pleased to report that it is now possible to unlink your son's MagicBand from your My Disney Experience account and later reuse it for an account of his own. You need to call the helpful Cast Members at (407) 939-4357 who provide technical support. Find your son's MagicBand under "MagicBands and Cards" under the
My Disney Experience drop-down menu at the
Walt Disney World Resort homepage. Write down the code associated with his MagicBand. Then call the
technical support team at the number above and ask them to "unclaim" his MagicBand from your account. Make sure your son has set up his own My Disney Experience account before you make this call. Then you can link his MagicBand to his new account during the same phone call. In all my experience working with the Cast Members who provide technical support by phone, I have been very impressed with their skill and friendliness. I'm sure they'll do a great job walking you through the process.
Please wish your son a fabulous school trip for me. He is going to have SO MUCH FUN! Encourage him to pose for as many photos with his friends as possible. Some day he's going to be grateful for those photos and fond memories.
