I think it's so smart that you've planned a midday break at one of the resorts in the Magic Kingdom area, and
Wailulu Bar & Grill is such a great choice. It's a breeze to get to, and you have a couple of options. You can take
Walt Disney World Monorail Transportation from Magic Kingdom to
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Alternately, you can take the
water launch from Magic Kingdom to the Polynesian. Just look for the signs directing you to the resort launches. With either option, you'll then walk over to the Island Tower at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows for your lunch reservation.
In general, I always recommend planning for at least an hour when taking Disney transportation. Since you'll be in close proximity to your destination, I think 45 minutes is enough time in this case. If you happen to get there early, stroll through the Great Ceremonial House lobby and merchandise shops. You might even have time to pick up a complimentary lei at the front desk.
Be sure to pick up a Happy Birthday button either at Guest Services inside Magic Kingdom or any merchandise location. Cast Members and Guests alike love extending birthday wishes.
