My son was recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Are the restaurants able to provide Carb count? Otherwise it can become a guessing game at times. Is there specific ones that could?

    Hi Denise,

Welcome to Disney Parks Moms Panel. Walt Disney World Resorts are prepared to accommodate all kinds of special requests and food restrictions/allergies. At a counter service restaurant, you can ask to see the carb chart and at a table service restaurant, the manager can bring the chef to your table to talk to you guys and you can make the special requests. I’m sure that he is ready to provide something safe for your son to eat. You can always bring a general carb count guide book with you.  Regarding medicines, pack 2-3 times the amount of supplies as needed, then pack them in two separate bags and put your name and cell phone number on everything. Use the First Aid at all the major four theme parks, if it’s necessary. You can always go to guest relations and they will give you a more accurate information. There are many sugar free treats too throughout WDW like at Restaurantosarus at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and at Main Street Ice Cream & Parlor at Magic Kingdom. At Disney Food Blog, you can find more specific articles and a list of the restaurants that you are looking for.

    Have a magical day!
