Hiya, Michelle!
Welcome back to planDisney! I am so very glad that you stopped by with your planning question. Oh boy, surgery is never what you have in mind when planning your vacation. I will be thinking of your son and wish him a very quick recovery! This is such a great inquiry. I am happy to say that your son can still have an amazing adventure in The Most Magical Place on Earth!
Before arriving it's always best to consider how your son is feeling after surgery and get the green light from his medical team. If for any reason you need to reschedule your upcoming adventure, you can reach out to the
Disney Resort Hotel Reservation team for any Walt Disney World Resort vacation package changes. If you have theme park tickets but are not staying at a Disney Resort, you can change the dates of your tickets in
My Disney Experience or by speaking to a Cast Member with Existing Tickets.
Okay back to planning the best trip ever! Your son will still be able to enjoy most attractions and experiences during your stay. Some rides are on the more
thrilling side including Space Mountain and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Before jumping on your favorite coaster be sure to get that "all clear" from a doctor. And don't forget to bring an extra poncho or cover for the cast if you will be enjoying any water rides. You will find that majority of rides accommodate most Guests, even those in a cast or sling. Spend some time looking through the
Attractions and Entertainment guide to see how many of your son's must-do plans are still a go. You may be pleasantly surprised.
Beyond amazing rides, Walt Disney World Resort offers so many ways to be immersed in the magic.
Epic nighttime spectaculars, iconic snacks, and of course the characters! Have you heard the exciting news?
Traditional Character Greetings are making their way back to the parks this month! Your son will be able to shake hands, hi-five, or even hug his favorite pal. You could spend an entire trip being delighted by all that there is to do without getting on any rides at all!
Here's to healing and heading off to have a magical adventure!
We'll see ya real soon!
