My son really wants to see the Mad Hatter when we get to Disney. Does he show up anywhere on a regular basis? Also, our plane lands in MCO at 2:30. How much time should we plan to get to CSR and check in? Trying to figure out when we can plan dinner @Epcot.

Hi Stacey! This character is one of the more elusive ones at Walt Disney World. You can spot him near the Teacup attraction in the Magic Kingdom occasionally but nothing on a regular basis. When you enter the park stop at Guest Services and see if he is going to be in the park that day and get the exact location. A few years ago my daughter had her bridal luncheon at Disney and themed it around the Mad Tea Party. Alice, the White Rabbit, and the Mad Hatter all showed up to help her celebrate. I can understand why your son loves that character!

Estimating travel time is always tough since delays can occur from everything such as the airlines to baggage to ground transportation. If all works well and you do indeed land about 2:30 (and assuming you are taking the Magical Express bus and bypassing baggage) you should figure two hours to get to your resort. It likely can be less but by the time you check-in at the ME desk and wait for your bus and then stop at possibly other resorts before yours the time can extend up to two hours.

I like to settle into my room before heading out again so my suggestion would be to get a reservation around 6:30pm for that night. Once you are on the bus from your resort it is a short trip to Epcot in about 14 minutes time. Then add some walking time to the World Showcase which I assume you might be considering a restaurant there.

Enjoy your super Disney vacation coming up!
