Hi Karen,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! What a romantic proposal it sounds like your son has planned. I am so tickled that you are investigating possibilities!
On one of our visits, we were standing in line waiting for a PhotoPass photographer in front of Cinderella Castle and we witnessed a proposal! When those of us standing in line realized what was happening and she said yes, we all clapped and cheered! I definitely suggest that your son purchase
Memory Maker. With it, he will get access to all of the digital photos they take with PhotoPass photographers.
A proposal during or immediately after the
Happily Ever After fireworks would be amazing. Since it can get crowded near Cinderella Castle during the fireworks, your son might want to make a dining reservation for
California Grill. Make the reservation for about 30 minutes prior to the fireworks time. Arrive to the check-in desk at least 20 minutes early and request a window table. On our last visit, we had a fabulous view of the fireworks from our table and were able to hear the storytelling and music as well.
Karen, also have your son take a look at
Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons to get ideas for magical engagements. Although my husband and I were not engaged at the Walt Disney World Resort, we did have a simply perfect honeymoon there. We stayed at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. The resort was just gorgeous and we took many a late night walk around the grounds.
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
