Greetings, Tina! Welcome to planDisney, where Guests like you can share our knowledge, experiences, and tips to assist you with your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning!
The
Disability Access Service (DAS) is a valuable service designed to assist Guests facing the challenges of being in traditional attraction queues due to a developmental disability. DAS allows Guests to request a return time for a specific attraction or experience rather than providing immediate access. For some Guests, pre-registration for DAS is highly encouraged and can be done 30 days before your park visit but no later than two days before. For Guests unable to pre-register, applying for DAS can still be done in person at Guest Relations locations; ensure the Guest requesting DAS is present during the registration process and when returning to the attraction or experience at the designated time. You may have read that the DAS program is undergoing some updates/changes, so please continue to monitor the Disney website for updates as you get closer to your visit. While I cannot give you a definitive answer as to whether or not your son will be granted DAS, I can assure you that the Cast Member or medical professional you speak with will listen with empathy.
I would also encourage you to review the
Accessibility at Walt Disney World Resort website to learn how Disney is dedicated to providing Guests with a great experience through various support services! If you have any additional questions about your upcoming vacation,
please ask me directly. As a father of 3 young boys, I have plenty of tips and recommendations on how to enjoy your holiday with little ones at The Most Magical Place On Earth!
See you real soon,
Brent
