    Hi! My son and I will be in Pop Century Resort in January/16. Is it possible to order a cab at the concierge desk to go, for example to Downtown Disney?

    Hi Claudia,

    Congratulations on your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation, it will be here before you know it!  You will be happy to know that you may take a cab from Disney's Pop Century Resort hotel to the Downtown Disney Area (soon to be called Disney Springs).  However did you know that Disney provides complimentary bus transportation from your Resort hotel to Downtown Disney?  One of the many benefits of staying at a Disney Resort hotel is complimentary transportation to its theme parks, water parks, and Downtown Disney Area.  Of course it is up to you what type of transportation suits you best. 

    While most of the time I rely on Disney transportation to take me where I want to go, I have on several occasions used a taxi service.  Recently I have also used another transportation service called "Uber" while vacationing at Walt Disney World Resort.  It is important to know that Uber and other taxi services are not affiliated with the Walt Disney World corporation and therefore are not complimentary and require separate payment.  If Uber is something you are interested in using I suggest doing an internet search for it and setting up an account ahead of time since it is a cashless system and requires the use of a Smartphone to use its service.  However to use a taxi you do not have to do anything ahead of time and can stop by your Disney Resort Front Desk when you need a taxi called for you.
