Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Donna! I had the pleasure of witnessing not one, but TWO proposals over my Memorial Day weekend vacation. There was lots of cheering, camera flashes, and plenty of love in the air!
The first proposal was an evening one, just as the fireworks spectacular
Happily Ever After soared over Cinderella Castle. I couldn’t hear exactly what the groom-to-be said, but I imagine he asked his lady, “Would you be MY Happily Ever After?” It was a magical moment. The second proposal I adored! As the Dapper Dans gathered around the Main Street Railroad Station, they sang and chimed a usual show. They then asked if someone from the audience would join them to assist in a number. A man volunteered and pulled his girlfriend up with him to propose as the Dans sang. Your son could also propose to his girlfriend in front of a
Disney PhotoPass photographer, who would be there to capture the moment in perfect focus. Think of taking a few photos and then asking for a “magic shot!” The magic just may be in the little box he presents… or visit in the evening to take a photo with Rapunzel’s lantern in Magic Kingdom. Her face will light up with more than just lantern light! You can call (407) 560-4300 to enlist the help of a PhotoPass photographer! An out-of-the-parks idea? Try a
romantic horse and carriage ride around Port Orleans Riverside Resort. These carriages are open for hire to any Walt Disney World Resort guest. Afterwards, celebrate with cocktails in southern comfort at the River Roost lounge.
If I can give you more suggestions to help your son, please let me know. You’ve got a friend in me! ~ Lindsey P.
