My son is 2 and we are planning to go to celebrate his 3rd birthday. Planning to do a 2 park visit First day he will still be 2 Second day will be his actual 3rd birthday Do I only need to buy him a ticket for the second day?

    Hi Nancy!

I'm so excited to hear that you will be celebrating your son's third birthday during a trip to Walt Disney World Resort! My son was at the "Most Magical Place on Earth" for his fourth birthday and it was such a special day. Be sure to get him a birthday celebration button from Guest Relations or the front desk of any Disney Resort hotel so Cast Members and Guests can join in the party. My little guy got a special birthday song from the Dapper Dans when they spotted his birthday button!

One of the amazing things about a Walt Disney World Resort vacation planned over your birthday is that you don't age during your trip! So since your little Mouseketeer will be 2 years old at the start of your trip, he will be considered 2 years old for the duration of his birthday visit for ticketing purposes. And since Guests who are under 3 years old receive complimentary admission to the theme parks, you won't need a ticket for him for either day of your visit and he will be able to enjoy the theme parks with you while you use your theme park tickets and theme park reservations. I think this means more Mickey bars and celebration souvenEARs for the birthday boy!

Nancy, if your little one is interested in seeing some of his favorite Disney Characters during your visit, I recommend that you add the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade to your itinerary. Since this is a really popular parade that just returned to Walt Disney World Resort a few weeks ago, I recommend that you plan on finding a spot for the parade early to get the best view for your little guy!

Let us know if you have more questions as you continue planning. T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
