My son is 5 and is a very picky eater so we usually bring along snacks for him wherever we go. Are we allowed to bring his snacks with us into the parks?

Hiya, Lauren, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I always love helping my fellow Californians plan their next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!

I can definitely relate to your plight! As a mom of three picky Mouseketeers, I too bring extra snacks with us wherever we go, just to have on hand. I’m thrilled to report that yes, you may bring your son's snacks with you into the parks! I usually include some food pouches, fruit snacks, granola bars, and my children’s water bottles. Here’s a link to the Resort Rules in case you want to check them before your arrival. Just keep in mind that loose ice isn’t allowed inside coolers, instead, re-usable ice packs are recommended. Also, glass containers aren’t allowed inside the Resort, except for small containers of baby food. Lastly, coolers or backpacks can’t exceed 24” long by 15” wide by 18” high.

If you plan on bringing a larger meal to eat before entering the theme parks, there’s a nice, shaded Picnic Area just outside the Main Entrance to Disneyland Park. There are also Rental Lockers available there for any extra food containers you may have after your meal.

A handy tip is to ask for complimentary ice water from any quick-service restaurant throughout the Disneyland Resort – it’s a great way to cool off on a warm Disney day!

But even my picky eaters have a few favorite snacks at the Disneyland Resort – including churros, popcorn, Mickey Bars, and the delicious smoothies at Schmoozies! inside Disney California Adventure Park. Also, there are food carts throughout both parks with fresh fruit and nutritious bars. My kiddos love the pizza and pasta at Alien Pizza Planet and Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta, too. Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe and Pacific Wharf Café are great spots to grab a simple sandwich for kids, too.

I hope this helps your picky eater enjoy the Disneyland Resort in a few weeks! Here’s the Entertainment Schedule for your day of arrival, too. It’s never too soon to start planning the perfect Disney day!

Wishing you a many magical moments and pixie-dusted memories!
