My son is very picky. We have the DDP & don't want to skip restaurants that our other children like, but when I read the menu's,places that we would like to try do not offer food he will eat, can I ask for nuggets or bring in something from quick ser

    Hi Cheri,

I have two picky eaters too.  We have not let this deter us from trying new restaurants while on vacation.  I have found that while a menu doesn't have something  that "exactly" matches your kids' wishes on the menu, the server will generally work with the kitchen to bring out something they would like.  For example, I have regularly asked for sauces to be removed, put on the side or changed.  I have asked for things to be grilled rather than fried, and I've even asked for a "warm" dessert to be served ice cold.  I have also asked for chicken nuggets in a few locations where they weren't on the menu.  All of my requests were met.  While, obviously, not every request can be accommodated, I have been very pleased at the willingness of the Cast Members to keep my kids happy.

When all else fails, absolutely feel free to bring your own food (or food purchased elsewhere in the parks, i.e., counter service location) with you if that would make your kids the most comfortable.  I usually have a PB&J and cheese sticks in my soft cooler bag in case of a "dining dilemma."

Also, I've found that no matter the entrees, my kids adore dessert time at Disney.  Some of the cool desserts they've tried recently have included a white chocolate "puzzle" that they had to assemble and then "paint" with chocolate, strawberry and pineapple sauces, and a make-your-own sundaes, surrounded by tiny cups filled with Mickey Sprinkles, whipped-cream, chocolate and cherries.
