I have a son with a physical disability & staying off property & visiting HS when they have EMH. Do we have to wait behind the turnstiles until 8 or do they let us in but cant do anything yet? Can we get to guest services before 8 to get DAS?

    Hi Michelle,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I can imagine the excitement in your house as you get ready for a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort!

Although we have used the Disability Access Service several times, I have never done so as a non-resort guest, so I called 407-560-2547 to speak with a cast member. Both cast members I spoke with said that Guest Relations should be open when the park opens for Extra Magic Hours and you should be allowed to sign-up for the Disability Access Service. Before you go, always double-check the park hours for the dates of your visit.

With Toy Story Land opening June 30th, the early morning Extra Magic Hours process could vary slightly from what it has been in the past so I hesitate to confirm how far you may be allowed into the park as a non-resort guest. The happy news is that you should be able to sign up for the Disability Access Service before 8:00 a.m.

If you have not used this service before, this is how it works - your son will be assigned the Disability Access Service. When my husband has been assigned the service in the past, our two girls and I have been allowed to ride with him. To request a return time for an attraction, simply approach a cast member at the entrance to that attraction, explain that you have the Disability Access Service and ask for a return time. Either of you connected to your son's Disability Access Service can request the return time but, when you return, your son has to scan in for the ride first.

Michelle, the Disability Access Service has made it possible for our family to enjoy rides together and cast members have been helpful!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
