    My son is a passholder. He wants to go to a park with a friend who has a single day ticket. Last year, the friend was not able to book my son’s LL even tho they are F&F. Is there an issue planning together for a passholder and single day ticket holder?

    Thanks for bringing us your question. Though Walt Disney World Resort is undoubtedly magical, sometimes the associated technology doesn't behave as such. I'm happy to help you troubleshoot for your son's upcoming visit.

    There are no restrictions against an Annual Passholder making Lightning Lane selections with another guest, as long as both have valid admission for the same day and a valid theme park reservation, when applicable. Since your son is an Annual Passholder without a date-based ticket, he'll need to make sure he makes the necessary theme park reservations when he plans to visit with a friend. The exception would be for the newly announced "Good-to-Go Days" for Annual Passholders, or if he plans to enter after 2 p.m. (excluding Magic Kingdom Park on Saturdays and Sundays). 

    Once the admission details are all worked out and the dates are set for their visit, you'll want to be sure both your son and his friend have the appropriate settings enabled in their My Disney Experience Mobile Apps. Though they appear on each other's Family & Friends lists, they'll each need to update their settings to view all plans instead of just those they share. For instance, if your son's friend is staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, but your son isn't on the resort reservation, he would likely be unable to view the plans and connect for Disney Genie+ Service Lightning Lane experiences together with the existing settings. If your son is hoping to purchase Individual Lightning Lanes he will not be able to purchase until the official theme park opening, though registered resort guests will have the ability to begin purchasing those at 7 a.m. Just something to keep in mind, in case that was the particular issue they experienced on their last attempt.

    In order to enable the correct settings have each of them log into their My Disney Experience accounts and locate each other on their Family & Friends list. They should see a "Settings" button next to each guest's name. Have them click that and switch the toggle to ON/Green to "Allow (x) to view all of your plans." They can do the same for Disney PhotoPass photos as well if they like. If your son has already completed these steps and is still experiencing issues, I'd recommend contacting Cast Members with the My Disney Experience Team by phone. They will be able to further troubleshoot any issues.
