My son will be going parasailing on castaway cay. Is he allowed to have a chest mounted camera while he is doing the activity?

Ahoy and welcome to planDisney, David! It won't be long before you are standing on the deck of your Disney Cruise Line ship saying, "Bring me that horizon!"

Parasailing at Castaway Cay is the most exhilarating and magnificent experience! Your son is in for an adventure. I checked for information on chest-mounted cameras for this excursion, and there are no listed restrictions other than any item that could interfere with the harness or straps or could compromise the safety of any passenger is not allowed. So it seems like he is good to take it, with the understanding that if any of the Cast Members or crew say he cannot use it, he will have to listen to their guidance. You could ask the Cast Members at Marge's Barges & Sea Charters Dock where you check in for this excursion.

I am the thrill-seeker in my family, and I went on this excursion alone. My family watched from Deck 11 on the Disney Fantasy, hoping to get a video of my parasailing debut. The best video, however, was from my cell phone, taken by a boatmate. We took turns swapping cell phones and capturing each other's squeals of delight. A camera on his chest might capture the stunning views, but his reaction when the parasail just carries him into the wind will be priceless. He would just need to ask another person on the boat, which seems to be a pretty common practice.

With your departure date approaching, I hope you are ready for online check-in. You can complete this 30-40 days before you sail, depending on your Disney Cruise Line Castaway Club level. You will need pictures of your travel documentation, pictures of each guest in your stateroom (head and shoulders against a solid background), and the form of payment for onboard charges. The best part of check-in: selecting your Port Arrival Time. Then, all that is left is packing!

Have you heard about the onboard-only offer for a discount on a future cruise? I am asking mainly because Disney Cruise Line announced today the Summer 2025 cruises go on sale starting Monday, March 18. A future cruise is top of my mind today. With the addition of the Disney Treasure and the opening of Disney's Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, the line where the sky meets the sea is calling me!

Please come back to planDisney with any other questions. We are here for you!

    SEA 'ya real soon!
