Hi Denise,
Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. We on the panel love to help guests to plan magical vacations!
It sounds to me like you are coming Walt Disney World and you have a one-day ticket with the Park Hopper Option. This ticket will allow you to visit Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. It is up to you if you want to visit one of these theme parks - or all of them! By "Disney World," I believe that you are referring to Magic Kingdom Park, which is the park with the iconic Cinderella Castle a the center.
I suggest that you choose one or two theme parks to visit. While trying to make it to all four might be tempting, this could mean that you are spending much of your time on transportation rather than enjoying the theme parks. If you want to see the original, head for
Magic Kingdom Park. Here you can experience attractions such as Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and see where the magic began at the original Disney theme park in Florida.
If you would like to head to another theme park, I suggest that you and your son watch the
Walt Disney World planning video online. This will allow each of you to see the types of attractions and experiences available at each theme park. A good choice for you might be
Disney's Hollywood Studios, where you can experience thrilling rides such as Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, as well as many experiences about Star Wars.
I would love to help you plan further Denise; however, I am limited in the amount of space I have to answer. Please do write back if you have any further questions.
