Hi Kiera, and Ka-Chow!
Meeting characters – favorites and new favorites – is one of the most magical parts of any Walt Disney World vacation. I just love seeing ways that characters interact with Guests and make forever memories in those moments.
While Lightning McQueen is not currently available to meet Guests at Walt Disney World, I have a few suggestions that I think your son will love. First, even if you’re not staying at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, be sure to visit the resort's Cars section. Over by the
Cozy Cone Pool, your son can see models of McQueen, Mater, Doc, and other favorites. While Guests not staying at the resort aren’t permitted to swim in the pool, it’s a fabulous photo op, and you could head over to the Landscape of Flavors food court to find a fun cupcake or treat.
At Disney's Hollywood Studios, encounter Cruz Ramirez from Cars 3 for another great photo and a chance to see more of the Cars pals. This is a temporary character experience, so keep an eye on the Walt Disney World website in case it goes away before your trip – I’d hate for your little guy to be disappointed.
Have you heard about the new
Pixar Play Zone? For a fee, children aged 4-12 can enjoy a night of Pixar-themed games, treats, and fun while parents can enjoy a night out. Your son would probably love building his own race car and participating in the Piston Cup Challenge!
Kiera, since this is the year of Incredible Pixar fun at Walt Disney World, keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for announcements of new activities - you never know what might be around the bend!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
