Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for reaching out with your question! My son was also hugely obsessed with all things Cars and loved Lightning McQueen and Mater.
While there is no Lightning McQueen airport pickup option available or provided through the Disneyland Resort, there are still plenty of ways to make a magical Cars experience on your visit.
While there is often Cars merchandise and toys that you can find throughout the Disneyland Resort, your main focus will be
Cars Land in Disney California Adventure Park. If you haven't been, this is a full recreation of Radiator Springs and feels just like you're in the movie - including the street lights where the third blink last just a bit longer than the others, as Fillmore points out in the movie.
However, the best part of this land in my opinion is that your son will actually get to
meet his favorite characters as they cruise down the street and stop at The Cozy Cone for meet and greets and photos. This has been one of my family's favorite parts of the land!
While your son may not be ready to experience
Radiator Springs Racers (he needs to be at least
40" to ride), he may be tall enough to ride
Mater's Junkyard Jamboree and
Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters (both require a height of 32" or taller). These have been my kids' favorites over the years.
Lastly, this and Avenger's Campus are two of my favorite places to experience at night. They are absolutely incredible all lit up at night - a must see for sure!
