Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jodi! Being comfortable and having fun on the attractions is important at Walt Disney World Resort! I think you are a great Mom to reach out and ask this very question!
Guest that refer to themselves as “Pooh sized” often have this same thought process. While
there are no weight restrictions on any of the attractions, some of the seats are more snug than others. The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Astro Orbiter and Space Mountain are a few that have very narrow seats that tall or large folks don’t often feel comfortable in. Other rides that offer seat belt such as Test Track and Soarin’ give you pause for thought, but I have not yet personally heard of a guest that was not able to use the belts (there are no extenders available). Lastly a few people have been unfortunately not been able to secure themselves into the
Avatar Flight of Passage rider seat in Pandora. There is a great test seat outside the front of the line, and a good YouTube video online called Pandora Flight of Passage Rider Seat that gives you a great look at how it works and how to properly sit in it. All this being said, there are a great many shows and rides that do not have lap bars, seat belts or restrictions of any kind. Classics like
Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan’s Flight and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will accommodate all sorts of guests, so I urge your son to do a little research or ask some more questions and see the great fun y’all will have on vacation.
Please return to the panel, and we’ll see ya real soon! ~ Lindsey P.
