My son needs help with the wheel chair just because of how much walking will need to be done. When we are waiting entrance to get into the park, can we get a wheel chair rental? Also, can we use that wheel hair to get back to our hotel (on property?)

Hi Suzanne!  If your son needs to use a wheelchair for much of your visit I highly recommend you use one of the Disney authorized rental companies. They will bring the wheelchair directly to your resort and you will be able to use this throughout property and during your entire stay. They will then come and pick the chair up when you depart. It is the easiest and most efficient way to use a wheelchair. I recommend Buena Vista Scooters and they can be reached at 1-866-484-4797 or 1-407-938-0349.

If you are wishing to rent a wheelchair at the parks the rental location is inside the park and the fee is $12 a day or $10 a day if you do a multi day pass. You cannot take the chairs back to the resorts so this is another reason why it's good to rent through an outside company. Park wheelchairs are on a first come basis as well so if you come later in the day you might be disappointed and have to wait until one has been returned.

I hope this answers some questions about the use and rentals of wheelchairs at Walt Disney World.
