My son will be 19 months when we travel to Disney in Jan 2015. As of Sept 2014 he's 31.5 in. The lowest height requirement for some rides of 32 inches. If he doesn't have a growth spurt in the next couple months, will this trip be a complete bust?

    Hi Kendra,

You have a great question about vacationing with babies and toddlers in Walt Disney World.  As a Mother who has vacationed with infants as young as 3 months old, I can verify your vacation with your son will be one filled with fun rides, attractions, and very special memories of his first visit.

Here is a link to a Walt Disney World webpage for Planning for Pre-School Kids & Little Ones.  In this link you will find a downloadable guide entitled "Preschool Parent's Guide to Walt Disney World" as well as another link to over 68 attractions designed to include preschoolers in the fun.  As you peruse the different attractions you will discover that there are a lot of rides and attractions without height requirements.  My youngest child's favorite attraction when he was 6 months old was Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin.  I can still remember how he would squeal and kick his feet up and down on my lap whenever I would shoot the lasers at the targets for him.

Another great memory maker for you is to take photos with your son and the different Disney Characters.  Even though my oldest child is now 15 years old, she still enjoys looking at old photos of herself with the Characters on her first Walt Disney World vacation.  For other tips about vacationing with little ones, please visit the Toddlers & Infants section under Planning & Budgeting in our Disney Parks Moms Panel site.

Thank you for submitting your question and please let us know if you have any further questions. I hope you enjoy your first of many more magical Walt Disney World vacations with your son!

    Blessings,
