My son will be 7 months at the cruise. We want to enjoy the beach at St. Kitts but I am concerned about getting there without a car seat.I am not opposed to riding in a bus or a van with him on my lap but not sure it is legal or if there is a better option.

    Hi Melissa!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  I am so excited to hEAR you are going on a Disney Cruise Line vacation!  And seeing that you will have a seven-month with you brings back all sorts of memories for me!  My oldest (now six) was just seven-months old on his first Disney Cruise and we had just the best time!  And later this month he will be heading on his 16th Disney Cruise Line vacation and they just keep getting better!  While he doesn’t remember those first few sailings, my husband and I sure do!

You want to know something funny??  The very first question that I, myself, brought to the Disney Parks Moms Panel prior to our first cruise was about bringing a car seat!  As it was then, the same rings true and that is that the vehicles used for public transportation such as shuttles, taxis and motor coach buses do not support car seats and are not required for use.  You will be able to hold him on your lap during transportation to/from your Port Adventure.  When we travel, we opt to not bring car seats with us to give us more room in the stateroom, BUT I definitely recommend bringing a stroller!  Preferably an umbrella stroller…we purchased an umbrella stroller that had the ability to recline slightly and that stroller (plus a second one we got when our second son was born) has gone around the world with us via the “Mickey Boat”!  The stroller can be stowed away under your bed in your stateroom and narrow enough to navigate the hallways onboard or stroll a sleeping baby into the stateroom…because you never want to wake a sleeping baby!

Oh, I am so excited for all the memories that you will make on this vacation!  Please come back with any other questions you have as your planning continues!

    Happy Sailing!
