Our son is in the military and has purchased us the military 3 day park hopper tickets for us when we come to see him on memorial day weekend. I understand he will need to bring his military ID, but will we need to bring paper tickets too? Thank you!!

    Welcome BACK, Julie!

Thank you so much for sending another great Disney Parks vacation planning question our way. This time about Disneyland Resort! I'm happy to be your planEAR today!

Uncle Walt loved the U.S. Military so much. And as an Air Force wife, my family and I have had some amazing memories thanks to these fantastic U.S. Military Disneyland Resort Multi-Day Park Hopper Tickets. Even though your son already proved his eligibility to purchase these tickets at the base/post ticket office, he'll have to again show his ID at the turnstiles when it's your party's turn to enter the theme park on your first day.  When everyone is redeeming their ticket for the first time, the Cast Member at the turnstile will also take a picture of each person in your crew. I think this process is a lot smoother if you bring the actual paper tickets vs. the tickets loaded to one or multiple Disneyland Mobile Apps. (Apps crash; if everyone pulls up their tickets at the same time the last one usually times out before it can get scanned and then you're in the line trying to pull it back up; glitches; etc) After your paper printouts have been scanned that first time, they'll be swapped out for small actual theme park tickets that are about the size of a credit card, and from that moment on you can use either your newly printed tickets or the tickets in the app for the rest of your Disney days.

I wanted to mention that Memorial Day is fast approaching, so be sure to make your Park Pass Reservations ASAP. Park Pass Reservations essentially tell Mickey which park you plan to start your day in so he'll be ready for you and your family. And actually, hEARs the current Park Pass Reservation Availability calendar should you want to take a peek.

I hope that this helped to better plan your upcoming Disney days, Julie! Thank your son so much for his service, and thank you for being a Blue Star Mom!
