Welcome to planDisney, Arabel! We are honored that you wrote to us for advice. Mickey and I are sad to hear that your son had surgery recently, but we hope your upcoming trip brings some happiness into his life as he recovers.
According to the
Disneyland Park Rules and Regulations, wagons or
stroller wagons are not permitted inside the Disneyland Resort theme parks. Occasionally, case-by-case exemptions are made for children who need a wagon for medical reasons. My advice is to send an email to
Disability Services at disability.services@disneyland.com. Please attach a picture of the wagon in your email and include its dimensions. I would also explain your son's situation and offer your phone number should they have any follow-up questions. While an exemption is not guaranteed, you should get a response within 10-15 business days. You can also call them at (407) 560-2547.
As an alternative, you can contact ScooterBug, a private mobility rental company in the Anaheim area. They will have
stroller rentals for special needs that fit Disneyland's dimensions. Visit their website at ScooterBug.com/Anaheim or call (800) 726-8284.
Typically, strollers can't be taken through attraction queues, but sometimes guests can get permission from
Guest Relations to have their stroller designated to be used as a wheelchair. If approved, you're given a red tag for the stroller, and this tag lets Cast Members know your child does not need to disembark until the loading point. Also, take advantage of each park's less stimulating rides, such as the
Disneyland Railroad,
The Storybook Land Canal Boats, and
Mark Twain Riverboat.
I hope this helps, Arabel! If you have any more questions, please feel free to write back anytime. We hope your Mouseketeer feels better real soon!
