Hi Andy!
Although recent announcements did not mention anything about closing, Luigi's Garage is gearing up for the release of Cars 2 this summer. Inside Luigi's Garage you will find Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater ready to Greet your son. The best way to make sure your son doesn't miss his favorite characters is to pick up a Times Guide, usually available wherever park maps are offered, where you will find the time and location of every Meet N' Greet scheduled for the day.
Be sure to check out Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show where Lightning McQueen will have a special cameo spot!
