Hi Kirsten,
Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! I’m sorry to hear your son lost his MagicBand. As a fellow parent to young ones, I understand how items can be there one moment and gone the next!
Have you filled out a
Lost and Found form with information about the missing MagicBand? The form includes questions about the type of item, where and when it was lost, and any other identifying information you can provide. I recently filled out this form for a lost MagicBand and received frequent email updates on the status of the search.
MagicBands can be deactivated or marked as “Lost” through your My Disney Experience account, however, the MagicBand will remain listed under your account. The only way to have a MagicBand removed is by calling the number listed under “
My Disney Experience, MagicBand and MagicBand+” to have a Cast Member remove it from your account.
You must have a
Disney Resort hotel reservation linked to your account to order a new MagicBand personalized with your son’s name. If you have an upcoming Disney Resort hotel reservation, you can visit the “Resort Hotel” section of your My Disney Experience mobile app and select “Choose MagicBands.” This will direct you to the page to order and personalize your MagicBands. Keep in mind that this order can only be placed once, so everyone on the room reservation must make their selections or decline a new MagicBand before completing the order.
If you do not have a Disney Resort hotel reservation, you may order a MagicBand from
shopDisney, or purchase one in a
Walt Disney World Resort merchandise location. These options cannot be personalized but can be linked to your My Disney Experience account and used the same day you receive them.
I hope this was helpful, Kirsten! I hope your son finds a new MagicBand design that he loves! If you have any more questions, come back and see us at planDisney!
