I have a son who will be 2 in June & I really want to take him to Disney, I want to go to because I have never been. At what age would it be good to take him for the first time. I don't want to take him if he won't be able to do any activities or rides

    Hi Hollie,

The best age for a first visit is totally subjective. My older daughter was 2 for her first visit, and she actually remembers some of it. My younger daughter was only 2 months old on her first visit and never remembers a time when Walt Disney World wasn't part of her world.

One of the wonderful things about a Walt Disney World vacation is that many of the rides and attractions are accessible to all ages, even infants. For example, at Magic Kingdom, there are more than 30 rides and attractions that your son could participate in, including Dumbo, it's a small world, Peter Pan's Flight, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin and many more.

He also will be able to meet characters and enjoy the parades and shows.

When my children were little, I loved watching the looks on their faces as they got a high-five from Winnie the Pooh or flew on Dumbo or tasted a Mickey bar or a Dole Whip.

Baby Care Centers in each park also offer easy, comfortable places for feeding, changing and other necessities.

I hope that helps. If you are comfortable traveling with your son, I'm sure he will have an amazing time on his first Walt Disney World visit...and so will you.

Please check back with us if we can answer any more questions or help you map out your vacation plan. We're happy to help, especially when guests are planning their first visits.

    Enjoy!
