My son is just 40 inches, and wants to ride on all the big kid rides. Will he be measured going on to every ride with a 40 inch requirement or will they give him something so he can be measured once and breeze through the rest of the rides?

Welcome to the Moms Panel James! We're super excited to have you hEAR!

I love your son's enthusiasm!  Disney measures guests at each attraction.  Disney doesn't issue wristbands or anything indicating a guest's height but they are pretty fast and it only takes a quick second so you won't be slowed down.

You can find a list of the attractions with height requirements (HRs) by visiting the Traveling with Little Ones section on the Disney World website. There you will find a PDF file on the right side of that page which lists attractions at all of the theme parks that have HRs.

I've always kept in mind that safety is always first and tell my boys that we'll try but tell them we'll have to see what the Cast Members say when we get there. Typically when my boys meet the requirement at one attraction, we haven't had any problems at any of the others. But I always tell them that there is the possibility of not meeting the HR at different attractions so that they won't be too disappointed if we get turned away. I also tell them that means we'll have to start planning our next trip when they are a little taller.

I always try to keep everything upbeat and positive because children often take the lead on their parents' feelings about things. When things don't exactly work out, we quickly move on to the next thing and don't let it ruin our trip. We take it in stride and consider it all part of the adventure.

Please let us know if you have any other questions during your planning.  We're honored to assist you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison
