Bright Suns, Katie!
We are pleased to hear of your upcoming visit to Batuu. The First Order persists, and we need young Jedi who are strong in the Force to help us defeat them. Let me congratulate you on finding the location of the Gatherers and securing a reservation at
Savi's Workshop.
When we last visited, our girls were 13-years old and did well with building without support. Given the speed at which the building occurs, I would worry about a 5-year old being able to build without assistance. If your son is already gifted in the ways of the Force and your husband can build his own while providing the occasional assist, it might work. The lighting is dim, and the parts can be a little tricky to connect. I am an adult and was proud of myself for not having to call for help from my girls or my husband!
If your husband can secure two separate times, he could focus his attention on your son in one session while allowing your son to assist him in the other. It might be nice for your little one to build his first and then be able to put his skills to the test on the second visit to advise Dad as he builds his. Once they both have their lightsabers, they need to demonstrate their commitment to the Cause on
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Be sure that your husband reviews the
updates to the Virtual Queue process.
If they have some time, also make sure they stop in at
Oga's Cantina. Every soon-to-be Jedi needs a break. Just be careful. You never know who might be working to gather information. Tell them to never let their guard down! Let me also quietly suggest - have them download the
Star Wars: Datapad on Play Disney Parks Mobile App. We need those who are skilled at translating galactic languages and hacking into droids.
Katie be well. Our quest to eliminate the First Order has been long but I sense that your son may bring hope to the Resistance!
May the Force be with them.
