My son is a huge Star Wars fan, and we are planning to visit Hollywood Studios during Star Wars Weekend. Are there any extra- special events we should know about, meals, parades, etc?

    Hi Jaymie,

Star Wars Weekends is a wildly popular event usually held in the spring at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  During the weekends, celebrity guests host the events which include talks, autograph sessions and a motorcade. They will have a lineup of celebrities appearing each day.

Right now, they have not announced the dates, details or celebrity lineups for the 2011 weekends but you can click here to see information on the events held during the 2010 Star Wars Weekends to get an idea of what your son has to look forward to if your trip falls on one of the dates.

Your son will also enjoy the Jedi Training Academy which is very popular among young Star Wars fans.

Star Tours is currently undergoing a major refurbishment and it is scheduled to reopen on May 16, 2011 (of course that is always subject to change once the date gets closer). The reopening of Star Tours is sure to be an exciting part of the 2011 Star Wars Weekends.

Be sure to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog as they usually make announcements regarding special event dates.  If you are on twitter, follow @DisneyParks and @WaltDisneyWorld.  If you're on Facebook, keep an eye on the official Disney Facebook page.

Also, please feel free to check back with us closer to your trip. Hopefully we'll know a lot more about the 2011 Star Wars weekends after the beginning of the year.  May the force be with you :-) Allison
