My son is 26yo with high functioning autism. We are planning a Disney Cruise for 2011. What is protocol for him to join in on the young and youth activities? He has the "Peter Pan" syndrome!!! This will be our first cruise..ever! Suggestions

    Hi, Rene!

Congratulations on planning your very first cruise aboard Disney Cruise Line (DCL) this year -- the cast and crew truly cater to the needs of every family! I think you'll be amazed at how they will accommodate and entertain you and your son and make this a family vacation experience of a lifetime.

With all that said, your question is one for the DCL cast/crew. You'll need to indicate your son's abilities and needs and possibly request to talk with someone prior to Embarkation Day.  You can have your questions answered by calling a special reservations number (407/566-3500) for guests with disabilities. Unfortunately, adults wishing to participate and/or enroll in youth clubs can not be accommodated.

Yet, there is plenty for your son to do and enjoy while aboard the ship.  There is entertainment such as live, Broadway-style productions, movies, character encounters and family entertainment, games and activities enjoyed throughout the ship. There is so much to do that Disney Cruise Line caters to the kid in us all! I hope I've helped point you in the right direction.

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
